Mix:analog is a real-time, analog audio processing service for modern engineers and producers.
It connects you to professionally maintained, remote analog studio hardware and gives you full, real-time control over it.
It's like a remote desktop program.
You can access it with your web browser at mixanalog.com (we only support Chrome and Firefox at the moment).
A graphical user interface (GUI) is used to operate the controls of the analog gear and the processed audio is streamed back to you in real-time.
Mix:analog as a project
It started as a natural evolution of our (Distopik Ltd.) team's effort to automate analog audio hardware a couple of years ago.
We all loved the sound and responsiveness of tube and discrete audio circuitry, but wanted to bite the knobs off when it came to recall and — god forbid — automation.
Any lousy plug-in can do that by design!
We invested — quite literally — years into research and a tidy sum of months into development of electronic solutions to replace any moving part in any analog device.
All of these custom electronic solutions can be controlled by a computer, automated and integrated into precise, clean, modern designs or high voltage vintage tube devices.
If we are now able to control these units from a computer…
...why not from any computer, from anywhere in the world?
We already know how to stream the audio over the internet, so this should be pretty simple. Once again, we put on our inventors' hats and devised a service that lets do just that.
What about the future?
Our goal is to build an industry standard service/tool that provides access to premium analog gear to every audio engineer in the world at a reasonable price.
"It's a long way to the top if you want to rock'n'roll!"
There's a lot of gear we'd like to hook up to the cloud and there are hundreds of features we'd like to develop.
The truth is we can't do it alone.
We need the support of every single one of you.
You don't have to donate hundreds of dollars, euros, pounds or yen — a selfless Facebook 'Like' will do just as fine and we will love you forever!
If you want to go all-in, join the Mix:analog Community group on Facebook and take part in the decision-making process by vote-up the features on the roadmap (you need a Trello account to vote).
We'll also be running a subreddit at /r/mixanalogcloud/.
Finally, we would like to thank you for all the support you've already given us in any state, shape or form.
